Wheel Throwing
with Mackenzie Johnston-Green
Learn the basics of wheel throwing with guided instruction as you practice centering, opening, pulling walls, and shaping clay on the pottery wheel. During class, you may make more than three pieces as you practice, but you will choose up to 3 pieces to keep at the end of class. Ages: This class is for ages 15 and older. Glazing & Pickup Pottery takes time! After your class, your pieces will need to fully dry, be bisque fired, glazed, and fired again. Please allow approximately 4–6 weeks for finished pottery to be ready for pickup. You will receive a text when your pieces are officially ready. If our staff is glazing your work, all 3 pieces must be finished in the same glaze color. Want to glaze your pottery yourself or use multiple glaze colors? Book one of our Glazing Classes approximately 4 weeks after your clay class. This allows enough time for your pottery to dry and complete its first firing before you return to glaze it.

Basics of stoneware glazing. Brush stoneware glazes onto bisque-fired pieces. Perfect for finishing your creations.
Slab Building Class
with Mackenzie Johnston-Green
Learn the basics of slab-building while creating a personalized piece using about 3 pounds of clay. You’ll learn how to roll out clay slabs, cut and shape them, and use basic construction techniques to bring your piece together. **Ages:** Ages 8–14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. **Glazing & Pickup** Pottery takes time! After your class, your piece will need to fully dry, be bisque fired, glazed, and fired again. Please allow approximately **4–6 weeks** for finished pottery to be ready for pickup. Rory's Bookends
Specialty Handbuilding Project
Create a set of bookends inspired by Rory Gilmore and her love of all things books! In this two-hour clay class, you’ll use a provided template or create your own custom design to build a pair of ceramic bookends worthy of any Stars Hollow bookshelf. You’ll have the opportunity to paint your bookends before you leave, and our staff will finish them with a clear glaze before their final firing. Prefer to glaze them yourself? You can leave your bookends unpainted and return for one of our Glazing Classes approximately 4 weeks after your class. We recommend booking your glazing class in advance so your pieces have enough time to dry and complete their first firing. Pickup: Pottery takes time!
